How to lodge a complaint with the Office of Ombudsman
The Ombudsman of the Republic of Rwanda may investigate any action taken in the exercise of administrative functions of government departments or authorities and Private institutions, where a citizen or a resident claims to have sustained injustice as a result of a mal-administrative act. The Ombudsman can also investigate administrative action on his own where he considers that some person as a result of the action may have suffered injustice.
Complaints of injustice are lodged in four ways:
The first way of lodging a complaint of injustice to the Office is where citizens come to the Office in Kigali city and meet with the Officers who receive their complaints. This activity is done on every Monday and Wednesday of the week;
The second way is done through writing to the Chief Ombudsman submitting your complaints. Complaints can be made in writing by any member of the public, a group of people, a company, or by one person on behalf of another person;
The third way is through outreach program were Officers receive complaint of injustice in given location of the Country;
The fourth way is using free toll phones and email addresses were Officers receive complaints of Injustice.
