| Message Title: My right to do Medicine at NUR | |
| Message: Dear Hon.Ombudsman,I am a student at National University of Rwanda in the faculty of Medicine but recently after accomplishing my first year, the Academic Vice Rector write me a letter which says that I have attended class in medicine without authorization while I have been oriented in Applied sciences.This is not true because since I get this opportunity of doing my studies in University I have never been oriented in that faculty. In fact, I have completed my secondary studies with distinction of 7.5 in Biology and Chemistry(Biochimie) in 2005.My registration number is 07/19921 and I have done my EPLM studies as well.At the end of the academic year 2007 we have got our orientations and mine was Medicine.Unfortunately,in 2008 I have suspended my studies with authorization as required by the NUR regulation. In February 2009,I have got the permission to be integrated in my faculty as I has demanded it in August 2008.Since then I have been registrated in medicine as well.The class lists have been published in July and I missed my name. I joined the registrar office and they supply the additional list to the faculty, but my name has never appeared at the faculty.Always the registrar office shows me that I am on the list.During deliberation period, I have not been deliberated because of some marks where not provided by my teachers. For the second time,they inform me that I will not be deliberated because of not being at the class list. I come to follow up this problem and the registrar gave me a paper justifying that I am a student of medicine.Arriving at the faculty, they told me that my problem should be solved by the Academic Vice Rector who answered me that I am not a medical student.Yesterday, I have sent my problem to the Rector,however I have only to days for registration for academic year 2010 and if the problem do not be solved at time I am the only looser even if it is not my faults and I am still waiting for answer but I inform you for not being victim of my right violation. If you don't mint I may send you allow documents justifying this and I kindly hope my request will be considered and I thank you for your protection to our rights. |
