Mr. Augustin NZINDUKIYIMANA was born on 16 th March 1948 in HUYE District, Southern Province of Rwanda. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and he followed various traings on Business promotion and on row materials trade. He is currently doing his Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA). Professional wise, he has had his carrier in Coffee Sector whereby he held different responsibilities (Head of the Section, Head of Service Department, Director of Coffee Manufacturing Industry). From 2000 to 2004, he was a Commissioner in the Legal and Constitutional Commission. From March 2006 to December 2006, he was the Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Ombudsman. From then up to now he is the Deputy Ombudsman in Charge of Fight against Corruption. |
| DEPUTY OMBUDSMAN: Bernadette KANZAYIRE |
Bernadette KANZAYIRE is the Deputy Ombudsman of the Republic of Rwanda since 29th March 2010. Before being appointed Deputy Ombudsman by the Council of the Government of 29th January 2010, Bernadette KANZAYIRE was a Member of Parliament of Rwanda since March 15th 2001. As a Member of Parliament, she has first practiced her function in quality of member of the Social Committee within the National Transitional Assembly until August 2003. From there, she became a member and president of the Political Committee of the Rwandan Parliament, Chamber of Deputies from October 2003 to January 29th 2010 and this under the terms of the legislative elections in 2003 and 2008 where she represented the Rwandese Patriotic Front. She is one of the founding members of the Network of Rwandan Parliamentarians for Population and Development, established in 2003 and the Network of African Parliamentarians against Corruption (Chapter of Rwanda) put in place in 2005. Furthermore, as soon as her entry into the Rwandan Parliament, she has acceded, as a member, to the Forum of Rwandan Women Parliamentarians. Before occupying these political posts, Bernadette KANZAYIRE exercised the profession as a private lawyer since August 1997 until April 2006. As human rights activist, she had occupied the post of coordinator of the activities of promotion and defense of human rights within the Association of Volunteers of Peace since November 1991 to August 1997. In this quality of human rights activist, she has participated in several investigations of violations of human rights throughout the territory of the Republic of Rwanda. After obtaining her diploma in general humanities in 1981, she has been a public Servant in the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific and Technical Research where she worked as secretary from November 1981 to September 1985. Bernadette KANZAYIRE holds a Bachelors ‘Degree in Law obtained in September 1990 at the National University of Rwanda. |
