Anti-Injustice and Anti-corruption campaign in Ngororero District 7-11/11/2022

From November 7th to 11th, 2022, the Office of the Ombudsman conducted the Anti-Corruption and Anti-Injustice Campaign in all sectors of Ngororero District in Western province. The Campaign is the right opportunity for citizens to lodge the complaints to the Office. On this occasion, the Chief Ombudsman Nirere Madeleine,  Deputy Ombudsman in charge of Preventing and Fighting Injustice, Mrs. Yankulije Odette, the Permanent Secretary and other Ombudsman Staff, Ngororero District Officials and security organs received complaints from citizens.

Many of them are land related, court Judgments execution & socio-economic related issues.

Some complaints were solved on spot and others were oriented to the relevant Institutions for further follow-up. Citizens were requested to solve complaints through " Inteko z'abaturage" and "Inama y'Umuryango"in all sectors of the District.

The Chief ombudsman asked the citizens to use mediation before filing their complaints in courts.

 

The Deputy Ombudsman in charge of Preventing and Fighting Injustice Yankulije Odette urged the citizens to be play their part in preventing and fighting injustice and corruption.

She also urged them to settle their differences (conflicts) in a family and other mechanisms and Institutions in place before opting to court proceedings.

In Ngororero District, the Office of the Ombudsman received 298 totally, 117 were resolved on spot, 171 will be followed up by the District while 10 will be followed up by the Office of the Ombudsman.
