Muhanga: The Office of the Ombudsman requested local Leaders to solve complaints of citizens in local community Assemblies [Inteko z’abaturage]
From Monday, March 6 to 10, 2023, a group of staff from the Office of the Ombudsman conducted an Anti- injustice and Anti-corruption campaign in the Muhanga District in order to receive and solve the complaints of the citizens, including injustice and corruption complaints.
On 6/03/2023, when the Chief Ombudsman Hon. Nirere Madeleine met with the people in the Nyamabuye sector and was presented with various complaints, including those that have not been resolved by different institutions.
Based on the Complaints presented to her, Chief Ombudsman Nirere Madeleine finds that there is still a gap in the local Authorities in solving people's problems, requesting that they use all possible ways and methods established by the Government of Rwanda to solve people's problems without always sticking them.

The district Mayor of Muhanga, Ms. Kayitare Jacqueline, asserts that the Muhanga District administration will advocate for citizens to refrain and settle their differences in a family before opting to court proceedings.

The Complaints that the citizens brought to the Office of the Ombudsman are mainly about land related issues, disputes between spouses which are also based on real estate and other issues that have been brought to the courts and the people are not happy with its decisions.
