The delegation from the Republic of Mali commended the efforts of Rwanda in the fight against corruption.
This Thursday 10th August 2023, The Office of The Ombudsman has received the delegation from the Office of the Auditor of the Republic of Mali that is in Rwanda on a study visit. The Office has shared its experience in the fight again corruption and injustice in Rwanda.
The delegation was presented the status of corruption in Rwanda, how far the country is coming from in terms of fighting corruption, efforts that were put in the fight against corruption and how the Auditor General’s report contribute in the fight against corruption in Rwanda.
Presenting to the delegation, Emmanuel NSENGIYUMVA, the National Prosecutor of the Office of The Ombudsman explained how the synergy of institutions in Rwanda is making a big achievement towards combatting corruption. ‘’ Different organs in the central government, local government, private sector are working together to fight against corruption’’ he said

Furthermore, The Permanent Secretary of the Office of The Ombudsman of Rwanda Mr. MBARUBUKEYE Xavier explained how the political will in Rwanda has been a foundation since the beginning. He added the use of ICT technologies in different aspects that helped in combatting corruption such as IREMBO system, IECMS in the judiciary, Smart IFMIS for finance management, etc.

Furthermore, The Permanent Secretary of the Office of The Ombudsman of Rwanda Mr. MBARUBUKEYE Xavier explained how the political will in Rwanda has been a foundation since the beginning. The delegation commended the efforts of Rwanda in the fight against corruption and appreciated the contribution of the reports from the Office of the Auditor General in this fight. They are in Rwanda on a 7 day study visit with the aim of visiting various institutions in Rwanda such as Supreme Court of Rwanda, Office of The Auditor General of Rwanda, Transparency International Rwanda chapter, in order to share mutual beneficial experiences
