The Office of the Ombudsman carried out a campaign to prevent and fight against injustice and corruption in Kamonyi District
From 24 to 28/2022, the Office of the Ombudsman conducted Anti-Injustice campaign in Kamonyi District, where the citizens were explained the functioning and powers of the Office of the Ombudsman.
The Office of the Ombudsman assured the people of Kamonyi District to follow up on the issues of corruption, land related issues, to advocate for the people so that they receive good service.
In Gacurabwenge sector, 24/10/2022 where the Chief Ombudsman Nirere Madeleine launched the week dedicated to fighting corruption and injustice, she said that this campaign is part of continuing to remind the people of their role in preventing and fighting corruption and injustice, and giving them the opportunity lodge complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman and find solutions.

She continued retelling the people that other issues related to family disputes should be resolved in families because they are often referred to the Courts due to disagreements and they should learn how to resolve them amicably without going through the courts.
In Rugalika sector, 25/10/2022, where the Deputy Ombudsman in charge of Preventing and Fighting Injustice Mrs. Yankulije Odette received the complaints of the citizens, she asked them to avoid conflicts and solve them when they arise. She reminded the citizens the ways to appeal the decisions of the courts and that they should also know the deadline for appealing at each level so that it will prevent them from overstaying their time in the courts.

The complaints lodged to the Office of the Ombudsman during this campaign were mainly focused on those who do not have yet land registration certificates, land inheritance disputes, social family disputes and others.
This campaign was carried out in the sectors of Kamonyi District including Rukoma, Gacurabwenge, Musambira, Rugalika, Nyarubaka, Mugina, Kayumbu, Ngamba, Runda, Nyamiyaga, Kayenzi and Karama.
