The Office of the Ombudsman conducted a close follow-up on complaints of injustice lodged with the office by the citizens of Eastern Province

From January 23 to 27, 2023, the Deputy Ombudsmen and a team of the Office of the Ombudsman's staff followed up on and resolved injustice cases lodged with the Office of the Ombudsman by citizens from Rwamagana, Kayonza, Ngoma, Gatsibo, and Nyagatare districts.

The Deputy Ombudsman in charge of preventing and fighting corruption, Hon. Mukama Abbas, and the team of Office of the Ombudsman staff, together with the Nyagatare District administration, followed up on injustice cases in some sectors. According to the Deputy Ombudsman, they have come to pursue these cases in order to secure the people, as His Excellency the President of the Republic always asks leaders to put the people first.

Mr. Mukama said: "Our President, His Excellency Paul Kagame, always asks us to reach out to the citizens and provide them with good services, putting them on top and solving the problems that hinder their development; that is why we are here because he has sent us to follow up and solve the problems of the citizens."

As for the Deputy Ombudsman in charge of preventing and fighting injustice, Mrs. Yankulije Odette and the team of Office of the Ombudsman staff with local leaders followed up and resolved the complaints of the citizens in some sectors in Rwamagana and Gatsibo Districts. The Ombudsman Staff team also worked in the Kayonza and Ngoma Districts.
