The office of the Ombudsman of Rwanda concluded 2022 Anti-injustice campaigns across 15 Districts
This year The Office of the Ombudsman has concluded 15 districts anti-injustice campaigns in collaboration with the European Union.
As per daily mission of fighting corruption and injustice in Rwanda the Office of the ombudsman plan and conduct different campaigns aiming at fighting injustice on a yearly basis.
This year The office covered Fifteen districts from 11th January to 24th March 2022 in Nyabihu, Ruhango ,Rwamagana, Gakenke, Rulindo, Nyamasheke, Gicumbi, Nyaruguru, Kayonza, Gatsibo, Rutsiro, Nyanza , Kicukiro, gasabo and Nyarugenge Districts.
During these campaigns Hon. Ombudsman and her Deputies as well as other staff of The Office of the ombudsman taught citizens of the above mentioned districts values of fighting against corruption and injustice. The Office also received injustice cases filed by citizens in the public hearing at the sector level.
Among other cases many of the disputes were land related and family disputes.

During this campaign in Kigali city, with the collaboration of districts and local authorities Hon. Ombudsman received complainants from Nyarugenge district, The Deputy Ombudsman in Charge of fighting corruption received complainants in Kicukiro District and The Deputy Ombudsman in Charge of Fighting Injustice received complainants from Gasabo District.

These campaigns are the opportunity for the Office of the ombudsman to meet the citizens at the grass root level and to engage local authorities in solving problems in communities.

The Office of the Ombudsman urge the population to live in peace by avoiding unnecessary disputes and to reach institutions in time when they need help and to always follow institutions hierarchy.

Among all received complaints, many are solved immediately, others are given to districts authorities for further examination and report to the Ombudsman after proposing the solutions whereas others with more details are solved by the Office of the Ombudsman after the campaign.
The Office of the Ombudsman appreciated the contribution of local authorities and their tremendous work towards the citizens. The appreciation also goes to the citizens who attended the campaign and helped in solving complex cases that needed their contribution as the residents in the community.
