The Office of the Ombudsman trained the members of Advisory council against corruption and injustice at the sector level ( SACACI )
This Thursday 03rd February 2022, The Office of the Ombudsman trained the members of Advisory council against corruption and injustice at the sector level. Trainees were Sector Executive secretaries who are also the presidents of the council at the sector level.
In Gicumbi, Huye and Muhanga districts, 135 members of the advisory councils were trained in total and were explained that the value of the advisory council at the sector level is to make Rwanda a corruption and injustice free country.
Members were requested to put more efforts in Anti-corruption and Anti-injustice activities of the council
Putting the efforts amongst these strategies will enhance the work of fighting corruption:
- Sensitization on fighting corruption at all levels;
- Putting in place a toll free number;
- Reminding the citizens their role in fighting corruption and injustice during every umuganda at the village level;
- Inspecting every corruption loopholes;
- All cells and sectors must report on all handled corruption and injustice related cases to the district level;
Putting in place corruption and injustice prevention mechanisms according to the administration level
Participants commended the Office for the well organized training
The training organized by the Office of the Ombudsman provides an opportunity to explain to participants the dangers of corruption and explain to them the importance of adopting the integrity, their ethical behavior as well as the opportunity to exchange views on appropriate and effective strategies to prevent and combat injustice and corruption, it is also an occasion to better understand each and everyone's responsibilities to prevent and combat it.
