The South Sudan Anti-Corruption Commission appreciates the performance of the Office of Ombudsman.

The Office of Rwanda Ombudsman is honored to host the Anti Corruption Commission of the Republic of South Sudan for a benchmark on the work of the Office of Ombudsman, policies, strategies, and mechanisms for preventing and fighting against injustices in Rwanda, overview of the asset declaration management system, system implementation journey and the role of ICT in ensuring accountability in the public sector as well as collaboration mechanism with other competent institutions in the implementation of the asset declaration management system.

The delegation was received by Hon. YANKURIJE Odette the Deputy Ombudsman in charge of fighting injustice, Hon. Abbas MUKAMA Deputy in charge of Anti-Corruption, and other officials of the Office of the Ombudsman including the Permanent Secretary Mr. MBARUBUKEYE Xavier.

The delegation was given various exchanges about fighting corruption and injustice and how to declare assets to public servants, receiving questions and ideas from this group of the Anti-Corruption Commission in the country of South Sudan.

Hon. Samuel Jok bany Mading, Deputy Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission in South Sudan, who was the leader of the group, showed the performance of the commission in that country, saying that he appreciates the performance of the Office of the Ombudsman in Rwanda and says that they have learned a lot from it. they can also implement it in one way or another.

Hon. Yankurije praised the delegation for thinking of coming to Rwanda to learn about what they are doing, but she also said that the Office of the Ombudsman has learned from the operation of this commission and said that this is aimed at expanding cooperation and collaboration as well as the institutions of the East African Community. She concluded by telling the group from South Sudan that they feel welcome in Rwanda and that they can travel there days and nights.
