Through mediation the Office of The Ombudsman resolved a five-year-old dispute between two private entities
In the program of the Office of the Ombudsman of promoting the culture of conflicts resolution through mediation, this Thursday 21st Sept 2023 at the Office of the Ombudsman, the Chief Ombudsman resolved a five-year-old dispute between AVAILABILITY SERVICES COMPANY LTD and KIGALI INVESTMENT COMPANY LTD (KIC) which was about the big amount of money one party had to pay to the other, issues related to Caution, goods, and containers.
The Chief Ombudsman helped both parties to reach a positive agreement
Among other conclusions, both parties agreed that after the mediation, neither side will go to court on this same dispute and they all thanked the Office of the Ombudsman for managing this case successfully via mediation process.
In this mediation session were also representatives of various other institutions, including Mrs. MUBIRIGI Jeanne Francoise who represented the Rwanda Private Sector Federation and Mr. SHUMBUSHO U. Jean d'Amour who represented the Nyarugenge district.
The Chief Ombudsman thanked both sides and everyone who participated in solving this case and commended the mediation by requesting the use of this model in solving complex and simple disputes without going in courts processes that are mainly costly in terms of finances and time.
