Training program on Leadership and Management for Anti-Corruption Agencies

From October 10-12th, 2022, The Office of the Ombudsman with support from the Commonwealth Secretariat organized training program on Leadership and Management for Anti-Corruption Agencies.

In her opening remarks, the Chief Ombudsman Nirere Madeleine that today, there is global interest in leadership and management because of their importance in developing, implementing and maintaining successful strategies at national and institutional levels.

“This workshop will equip Leaders and Managers from the Office of the Ombudsman and from Partner Institutions here in Rwanda with skills, competencies and best practices in leading and managing today’s Anti-corruption Agencies. We have different Leaders and Managers from institutions which work hand in hand with the Office of the Ombudsman of Rwanda to tackle and eradicate this evil of corruption.” The Chief Ombudsman added.

Dr. Roger Koranteng, The Head of Public Sector Governance in Commonwealth Secretariat who has accumulated a great experience in capacity building of Anti-corruption Agencies in member countries of Commonwealth across the World, and as a trainer in this workshop, said that this training is very important for the managers of the Institutions to work and reach the desired level.

Some topics that were focused on during the training are innovative ways of addressing loopholes of corruptions, to develop new way of implementing Anti-corruption strategies in different topics that will have like Strategic planning and management for Anti-corruption Agencies, Ethics vs integrity, intelligence and social quotients for anti-corruption agencies, leadership competencies etc.
